Unfortunately...
Jolly Roger had to be sold before we could move house. This is why there have been no updates for the past few months.
Sorry to everybody out there who was keeping an eye on it’s progress.

It’s such a nice day outside. I want to be doing something, but I...
Time for some tools?
So, I thought I’d have a go at removing the tub. Simple job, right? Few bolts here, a wire connector there, and you’re off! Unfortunately, this was not the case. I managed to successfully remove four bolts before I ran into a cross-threaded one. It was not going anywhere…
I went to look for the hack-saw and found it. It had no blade!
So, failing the hacksaw, I was advised to...
Crap! Both the nuts on the Driver’s side door top just sheared....
I’ve been trying in vain to get these doors to shut. I cannot adjust them to sit heigh enough to close properly. They’re probably only 1/8” off. I’ll demonstrate what I mean.

Finally!
So it looks like I finally got my Dad involved in the project. He helped me take the bumper off today. That thing must weigh a bazillion pounds! Then we took the thick winch wiring out from behind the radiator panel.
And then it rained. Oh well, it was a start.
I took this video back in, um, mid-December. Better quality than previous attempts.
I’ll paint it for you if you prepare it.
– My Uncle, Mothers’ Day
So: What's Happening?
Ermm, at the moment? Not much, really. The weather’s getting nicer, the days are getting longer, Tony has been working on his Land Rover, but I’ve been doing nothing to mine.
Why, you ask? Because Dad still wants to wait for Tony to finish his Landy for us to start on mine. The good news is that he has been working on it when he can find the time. The V8 beast now has a painted tub,...
Looks like Maltelec’s website is down, meaning my little Landy icons...
I can’t wait to get working on my Land Rover. Hopefully if the weather...

Progress, Work. Sort of.
Truck-cab fitted! Sort-of! Needs the SWB special mounting rail thing, and a bit of modification to the current capping in the form of metal-eye removal. Other than that, I’m pretty much over the moon! So, now all I’m waiting for is: truck-cab SWB special mounting rail thing (no current one), rear window for truck-cab (one down in Poole), tailgate (current one not mine to keep),...

Just a quick update...
Nothing done to my truck, but there are signs of life on the V8 side of life! The chassis has been mostly painted in Smooth-Black Hammerite, bits are moving and appearing, and among them is Mr Tony, who I’ve been helping to get his project finished.
Looks like my project will go ahead in the foreseeable future! Woo-hoo!
Eager as the Proverbial Beaver
I’m anxious to get started on this project now. I just cannot wait to get cracking. My dad’s still saying that nothing will happen until the other Land Rover is finished and out of the garage. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen/heard from Tony for a while, and I’m starting to feel that this may never get started.
I’ve written a huge long plan on how I’m planning to...
AGGGHHH!!!
Mr Tony didn’t turn up today either as promised, so I did “nuffink”. And then I did some more “nuffink”. Looks like no work done this half-term, as I’m back at school tomorrow. Guess that means “nuffink” until, dare I say it, well past Christmas. May even have to wait for summer’s good weather. Crap…
Bored… bored… had a haircut… still bored…
Ugh… didn’t even get to see Tony today - we were out when he came.
Hurry Up!
Dad has said absolutely no to doing any real work on my Landy until Mr Tony moves his hairy V8 beast out of the garage. That could just be quite a while.
On the up side, Mr Tony should be coming to work today, tomorrow and the next day, apparently.
Are you bored yet?
Not much work recently, eh? Partly due to the horrible weather and also because there’s still another Landy in my garage, but mostly because I’m still planning which method of attack I’m gonna take.
Keep tuned, hopefully some real updates not too soon.

She took a while to crank, but once she was running… I think it’s...
Hasn’t been started in a month or so, so I thought I’d take a video of her in action. Quite smooth, possibly smoother than I last remember?
LRM November: pg129
Wow… just picked up a copy of LRM today and opened to page 129 to see… AGH! A Land Rover exactly the same colour as mine (thought it wasn’t a standard colour, now guessing it’s Mid-grey).
Intrigued, I read on. Second shock, it was sold by Sturgess of Leicester! If you recall, I have a badge on the back of mine stating so
Here’s what she looks like as of the 28th October, 2008. Not too much to look out. She will run, but I could be bothered to start her. I’ll try and get a running video soon.
You should see all the stuff I’ve got in my garage!
Quick update...
She needs a through looking at. There’s some work I want to do on the engine, mainly cleaning, but also fitting a new manifold to exhaust gasket (it’s blowing horribly) and possibly the installation of an electronic distributor conversion. This would be easier with the wings off, which is what I aim to do as soon as our friends project is out of our garage.
I also want to protect the...
